Virendra Mahajan Comparison of geometrical and diffraction imaging in the space and frequency domains


We review and compare the geometrical and diffraction PSFs and OTFs of an optical imaging system. While the truth lies with the diffraction calculations, it is considered easier and quicker to perform the geometrical calculations, especially in the initial stages of a design. We focus on the OTF comparison, and explore the range of spatial frequencies and the magnitude of the primary aberrations over which the geometrical OTF may provide a reasonable approximation of the diffraction OTF.

Feng-Yao Kao Wearable see through retinal projector design


The see through retinal projector is composed of illumination and eyepiece system. The retinal projector images a 20 upright virtual image at 2 m in front of human eyes. The see-through retinal projector and the compact camera present the volume about 5.83 cm3 and the weight 6.02 g.

Hsuan-Chih Kao Polymer waveguide on Optical Flexible Printed Circuit Board with Acoustic Sensing Membrane


In this paper, we demonstrate the acoustic sensing membrane combining with polymer waveguide on an optical flexible printed circuit board (PCB). The acoustic force would cause the acoustic membrane with vibration, so the silicon which is on the membrane will let the optical waveguide with variation optical flux. The variation optical flux of waveguide is monitored by photodiode to analyze the acoustic force. The acoustic sensing membrane is fabricated by using dry etching processes. Finally, the optical efficiency of straight polymer waveguide on optical flexible printed circuit board is -10.1dB, and the displacement of acoustic censoring membrane is ± 6nm.

King Ung Hii Multiple-pass configuration for laser beam divergence utilizing a lateral shearing interferometer


A new multiple-pass configuration for lateral shearing interferometer is proposed for applications that require sensitive collimation detection. This configuration enables the test beam to make eight passes as compared to that of the conventional double-pass system. A high sensitivity of collimation detection can be achieved by the proposed system.

Yung Chieh Tseng A Capsule Endoscope with Multi-Side-Images by using Spectra Multiplexing


In this research, a kind of spectra multiplexing capsule endoscope (SMCE) design is proposed. This concept consists of an optical lens with a spectroscopic system which is different from the one used two or multiple optical lens capsule endoscopy.
