Tsung-Hsun Yang The Optical, Color and Thermal Properties of White LEDs

we would give a review on the recent progress of the packaging technology in solid-state lighting in NCU. It will cover the optical modelling for simulation, the phosphor compositions, the handling on thermal generation, the optimal packaging efficiency, the optical design of luminaires, the electric driving, and life-time evaluation. So, the most ideal performance of SSL packaging is approached.

Lin Jing-Jie Color Conversion Efficiency Enhancement via Hybrid Structured GaN-based Light-Emitting Diodes

In this work, we have successfully demonstrated that the color-conversion efficiency in colloidal quantum dots can be greatly enhanced by using the hybrid structured light-emitting diodes. The light emission characteristics from the quantum dots were investigated and analyzed though a series electroluminescence and time-resolved photoluminescence measurements, indicating that the color-conversion efficiency of the existing quantum dots can be enhanced up to 12.5 %. This novel hybrid structured light-emitting device can be explored as a promising multi-color lighting light source.

Zhen Xue Optical Performance Described by the Phosphor Particle Numbers in Phosphor-converted White LEDs

In this paper, we demonstrate a method to calculate the phosphor particle numbers and study the relationship among phosphor particle numbers, light output and correlated color temperature of white LEDs under remote package type with and without photon recycling.

Shih-Kang Lin Optical design of dental light with high-performance and low-power based on white LEDs

In this work, we present an optical design of a dental light based on white LED, which meet the regulation of ISO 9680. The real module performs a maximum illuminance of 42010 lux which is much larger than the regulation and the CCT variation is reduced to 232K.

Hsien-Hao Tu A Large-Area, Uniformly White Light Emitting Diode Source on A Flexible Substrate

Abstract—This study demonstrates the flexible white LED structure with high lumen efficiency and color uniformity for neutral white and warm white CCT. The light efficiency of this device can reach 120 lm/W and 85% of light output uniformity of the emission area can be achieved.
