Tsung-Han Yang Ultra-high Sensitivity IGZO-TFT Biosensors for the Detection of Epstein-Barr virus Protein


A biosensor structure consisting of an Indium-Gallium-Zinc-Oxide (IGZO) thin film transistor (TFT) and a gold extended sensing pad was demonstrated. The sensing surface was functionalized by self-assembled monolayer and crosslinker for the immobilization. The biosensor is able to selectively detect 10pg/ml EBV antibodies in the PBS buffer solution.

Po-Jui Huang D-shaped Fiber Breath Sensor Based on Multilayer Coatings and Lossy Mode Resonance


D-shaped single mode fiber and (Si3N4/SiO2)2 Si3N4 multilayer coating to fabricate a new breath sensor was proposed. A real-time monitoring human breath can be detected by the change of light intensity. The D-shaped fiber breath sensor has been experimentally tested with good sensitivity and fast response time.

Rou-An Chen Fabrication of a new pH sensor with high sensitivity


We present the fabrication of a new pH sensor by using the D-shaped fiber and indium gallium zinc oxide coatings. The sensitivity of D-LMR type pH sensor is analyzed for different acidity solutions. The result shows the D-LMR pH sensor with a high sensitivity of 15.96 nm per pH unit for the pH ranging from pH 1 to 7.

Ling-chi Kou A closed loop cryogenic mechanical loss measurement system for measurement of coatings on cantilever


The sensitivity of laser interferometer gravitational wave detectors is limited by coating thermal noise at 100 Hz [1]. It is possible to reduce thermal noise as the system is cooled down to low temperature. This paper describes a close-loop cryogenic system which allows the measurement of the mechanical loss in a temperature from 5K up to 300K. The characteristics of the system are discussed for measuring the coatings on cantilever sample.

Ja-Hon Lin Analysis of Coherent Acoustic Phonon Oscillations in ZnO by the Hilbert-Huang Transformation


We investigated the ultrafast carrier dynamics and the coherent acoustic phonons (CAPs) in high quality epitaxial ZnO thin films grown on c-plane sapphire substrate by the degenerate transient reflection pump-probe technique. We also introduced Hilbert-Huang transformation (HHT), analyzing nonstationary and nonlinear signal and raising signal-to-noise ratio.

Zheng-Lin He Multispectral filter array for short-wave infrared camera


To pick out specific spectrums in SWIR, an array filter is deigned to match with a camera lens and filter redundant spectrums. Considering consequent image process and analysis, we design a new array arrangement based on Bayer pattern and filter specifications with modulating film process.
